Ainring was a DP transit camp located in the southern German Alps, near Munich. The camp was established on a former civilian airfield which, during the Second World War, was used by Adolf Hitler when her was staying in the Berghof, his headquarters in Bavaria. By the end of 1946 the camp housed over 3000 Jewish DPs. ORT’s school in Ainring has an enrolment of 180 students, employed eighteen instructors, and ran seven courses, including a very popular one in locksmiths training. The director of the school was the engineer Maurycy Znamerowski. Due to very bad living conditions in the camp, September 1947 saw all DPs from Ainring transferred to Lechfeld camp.

Ainring was established on a former German airfield, which, during World War II, was used by Hitler when he stayed in Berghof, his headquarters in Bavaria.

In September of 1947, all displaced persons from Ainring were transferred to another camp.
